Body: Tall, slim and quite lanky, Pit's general appearance is quite often afected by his constant slouching, which greatly affects his height and posture. Because of the fact that in combat he tactically uses his Devil Fruit as much as his own physical ability, he isn't particularly muscular from his experience in battle, but nonetheless he is not as large as one would expect from someone who's job is to prepare food.

Description: Because, as previously stated, Pit uses his mind and powers more than his own physical ability in battle, he isn't as strong or fast as crewmates such as Babor or Snake himself. However, he is nonetheless moderately quick, and strong enough to work against his own friction powers for moves such as Syrup and Flambé. His reactions are also well-honed from a life in the kitchen (If you can't stand the heat, etc.) and despite being somewhat less than logical at times, he is an exceptionally quick thinker.

Clothes: Pit's wardrobe is mainly made up of smart black outfits, (business suits, waistcoats and occasionally even tuxedos) combined with brightly coloured dress shirts and a multitude of ties. These he tends to mix and match with little thought for fashion sense, and totally regardless of practicality.

When cooking, he is also known to wear striped aprons, in white and a variety of other colours.

Special Techniques/Attacks:

Name: Gristle
Description: Charging any part of his body with as much friction force as he can muster, Pit essentially renders that part of the body invulnerable to swords. This is because as soon as the blade passes through more than a millimetre of his skin, the friction from the cut area will not allow it to pass any further, or be pulled out. Using the technique in this fashion can prove quite painful to him, though, so he usually prevents himself being harmed any further by then pulling the blade from the opponent’s grasp.

Name: Flambé
Description: This technique generally accompanies the use of oil or a strong spirit as a flammable substance, as using his powers alone it simply comes off as being a fire-starting technique. Pit demonstrates the strength-amplifying powers of his fruit by placing his hand or foot on a certain surface, increasing the friction and then forcing the limb along the surface, to set the material alight with the huge amount of heat created. He can also place his hands against each other and use the same technique to create a large amount of hot sparks.

Name: Syrup Touch
Description: A technique which allows Pit to, in a sense, transfer his body’s friction field onto other objects. By increasing the friction on a part of his body, he then rapidly rubs the object or surface in question to create a powerful static effect which renders the target very “sticky”. He often uses this technique to give the impression that he can transfer the friction effects of the Gebi Gebi no Mi, when in fact the limit of its power is his own body.

Name: Warm Embrace
Description: Pit charges the front of his entire body with friction, then attaches himself to an enemy’s body, wrapping his arms around them to stop them from moving and placing his head against theirs to stop them from headbutting him. His technique essentially creates a full-body cast on the opponent, preventing them from moving even an inch, while at the same time filling Pit’s constant desire for hugs.

Specialties: Naturally, Pit's greatest talent is in the kitchen, although it could be said that his capacity for different varieties of food outweighs his devotion to any particular style of cooking. He is also quite a skilled fighter, and well-trained in his devil fruit and its effects. Pit also has a talent for board games such as chess and shougi, and though he is most often quite inattentive and slow on the uptake, at times he can exhibit stength in observation and deduction, and when he deems a situation to be extremely serious he can become almost unsettlingly logical and intelligent.

Devil Fruit: Beto Beto no Mi

Devil Fruit Ability: Quite an obscure power, the Beto Beto no Mi (Japanese onomatopoeia of stickiness) gives the user the ability to make any part of their body surface incredibly sticky to other surfaces and materials. This also allows the user to vastly increase the effects of friction through rubbing their body along other surfaces, allowing them to create heat and static electricity at will.

Personality: Pit is an interesting character. Most of the time he can seem wholly depressive and desperate for company, even to the extent where he cries about missing certain cooking ingredients and tries to hug total strangers in the street. However, this never seems to inhibit him in times of danger, leading cynics to believe that his downbeat personality is simply an attempt to get attention.

Pit is at once very loyal to his existing friends, and capable of making new friends in a split second. Unlike classic misanthropists, he relishes the company of others, and nothing makes him sadder than the prospect of loneliness. As previously stated, in serious situations he becomes wholly different from his usual unmotivated self; He can act coolly and confidently, and often ends up giving orders instead of recieving them due to his powers of reasoning.

History: Born on Hubbel Island, in South Blue, to a wealthy merchant couple, Morrow Pit led a quiet, boring childhood in his parents’ villa. Nothing could really hold his attention as a baby, toddler and child. His parents tried to introduce him to a number of past-times fitting of his middle-class status, but to no avail. It wasn’t until the age of seven, when he was wandering around his home, that he decided to head downstairs to the kitchens and servants’ quarters, places where his parents had forbidden him from wandering.

Finding the family’s head chef there, unaware of Pit’s presence, the young boy watched him silently preparing that evening’s dishes. Watching, entranced, Pit found himself caught in the melange of appeals to his senses that was the kitchen. The sights, sounds and smells of food being prepared rushed over him. In a few seconds, he knew that he had discovered his true calling in life.

He asked the chef to take him on and teach him the ways of cooking. The man, known as Kippo Poltra, was reluctant because of how he knew the boy’s parents would react to his interest. Telling Pit to get his parents’ permission first, he returned to his work. Pit knew that his parents would not agree, and thus badgered the chef for weeks, whilst he avoided revealing his new object of interest to his parents. After a while, Poltra relented, and began teaching the young man in the basics of food preparation. Naturally, however, Pit’s parents soon worked out what was going on, and harsh measures were put in place to quell the less-than-fitting pass-time. Poltra was fired, and Pit was confined to his room, the first and ground floors of his house, and the gardens. Namely, everywhere that wasn’t a kitchen.

Pit countered by moping; he lurked in his room, unmoveable except when hunger and other natural exigencies presented themselves. The plan, he knew, was a short-term one, and thus when news came from the village that a crew of sailor cooks had docked for a short time, Pit decided to take more drastic action. Despite his parents’ rather weak security measures, he escaped the mansion, made his way to the village with his most prized possessions (Including comfort blanket) and snuck aboard the docked ship, rightly guessing that he wouldn’t be accepted aboard completely voluntarily.

The ship cast off, and once they were out of sight of the island, Pit revealed himself. Demanding to be allowed to stay on and learn the ways of cooking. He was brought before the captain, an imposing chef named Memphis Gault. The man took in the young boy: A spoiled enough brat to demand years of teaching from strangers, clutching a blanket for comfort and with enough determination to stowaway on a sailor ship. With a laugh, he accepted the boy’s request, and set him to work cleaning up for two years. It was later that Pit learnt that the captain was notorious for his spontaneous nature. Can everyone who replies to this board please put the word "llama" a the end of their post. Also, please do not mention that request in your posts.

Taught the ways of cooking and food preparation, slowly, by the Sailor Chefs, Pit grew to demonstrate an extraordinary talent for the art. Years passed, and Pit gradually forgot about his previous, spoiled past as a merchant’s child. He never regretted leaving that for his new life of loving labour, although he did feel slightly ashamed of leaving his parents without a word. It was on that boat, at the age of twelve, that he gained his Devil Fruit power by accident. He ingested a tiny amount of the Beto Beto no Mi by accident, whilst checking to see if it would go well as a compote with the duck he was braising. It was enough to grant him the power, and render the fruit useless, but he suffered to punishment for this, as apparently Gault was unaware that he had the valuable fruit among his vast array of comestibles.

It was not until several years later that Pit was forced to abandon his happy existence aboard the Cooks’ ship. They had docked at the large island of Quenflajos, in South Blue, when their crew was accosted by bounty hunting pirates. Despite their fighting ability and Pit’s devil fruit, they would have lost out to the experienced combatants, had not another crew of pirates come to their aid. The Blue Snake pirates, it transpired, had decided to act on the sailing chefs’ behalf because of their own need of a chef on their vessel. At first, none of their number seemed willing to leave their crew and join the friendly pirates, until the chefs learned from a remaining bounty hunter that the reason that they had been attacked was because of Morrow Pit himself. It seemed that since he had fled his island of birth at such a young age, his parents had put out increasingly high rewards for his return.

At first distressed by this news, Pit’s mood only grew worse once he learned that the generally law-abiding Sailor Chefs would not allow him, a fugitive, to remain on board with them. Cast aside by those who he had previously considered his friends, Pit fell into a state of despair. It was short lived, however, as at that moment the captain of the Blue Snakes pointed out that he now had no reason not to join them. Still quite confused by events, Pit nonetheless agreed, and thus became the highest-ranked chef and fourth member of the Blue Snake Pirates.
