this might be something we should think about for the next update. What if we started using actual statistics, damage calculations, occupations....

for instance, a starting cook would look something like this:
STR: 4
STM: 15
DEX: 15
INT: 10
WIS: 6

I dont think it will happen, but its something new and this might bring a lot more people to the site.

no. god no. no point systems. very very very bad idea. you get all wraped up i nthe numbers and lose the story in 'who has the higher number' if you want a ranking system stick to vauge levels not soild numbers

Losing story for RP points in very easy...But we sure had some Medals/Awards for RPer's sometime ago, before the upgrade....I guess they got lost or something..!

Meh, it can work if it's not taken to the extremes, imo. And helps out in the cases where everyone's chara profile just read "lightning-fast and super strong". Then the dude encounters another guy who's profile says "very fast but not spectacular in terms of physical strenght". Whereas the first mentioned one would be keeping up with the latter, and apparently overpowering him as well. Stat points would mean that the first guy would have had to divide his stat points between the two, and thus he'd visibly have less speed than the guy who spent on speed instead of strength.

Although, it's not like there's too many cases where such has happened. But it can work, imo, as long as it's not going to be too important point of the RPing. Storyline is what matters, noes?! :X

I was just thinking that it would make some things easier. Like in a fight between two people who dont want to lose that just keeps going and going. It's true that some people would get all wraped up in the point system though, unless we did something like RP-ing= exp?

i'm telling you i have seen this happend several times and it never ends up well. really. nothing good comes out of a point system. the only place where a point system works is in a code based RP like a game. any where elss and it just ends up cloging the works and geting rid of the funn. if two pepole can't agree have a mod or something flip a coin and say the loser looses but dosen't die. like luchi

Yeah. I also agree with the people against it.
Although it may work for a while, in the end all is accounted for are the stats, and that's what we...or at least I...don't want.
But I appreciate the thought you put in trying to improve the site. Please keep doing so.
