This an FMA RP thread that follows the anime, not the manga as the anime's storyline is finished. Also the movie will be ignored, furhter information on the plot is below.

History: Please be detailed with this, try to make a character whose story can add to the overall story of the RP.

Plot:
This happens several years after the anime, 10 years to be exact. Al is a State Alchemist, Ed is still trapped on the other side of the gate, Pinacho died of old age and Winry runs the business alone, Ed's and Al's teacher is dead, Mustang is fuhrer, the military no longer runs the country it is instead run by the parliament but they are still enemies with the surrounding countries.

Currently there have been reported attacks on alchemists all over the country, with no regards as to whether they are State alchemists or not. The attacks are to widespread to have been committed by a single man, leading authorities to believe believe they're being committed by a group of people, an organization perhaps. The details of these events are considered classified and little has been revealed to the public, the bodies of the attacked haven't even been given back to their families.

This has caused the people of Amestris to panic, doom sayers pack the streets of Central, protesters march around, screaming for the return of the bodies. This has forced the military to station more and more troops at central as riots escalate, leaving fewer soldiers to fight on the front lines on the northern border against the northern country Drachma. As a result tension between Amestris and the other surrounding countries has risen as they notice a potential weakness in the mighty nation.

All of them plot an invasion, all but one, the southern country Areugo who Amestris has had successful negotiations with for some time. However they're aren't ready plunge themselves into war for them just yet.

Due to this situation Amestris has opted to begin drafting everyone into service of the military once they reach the age of 18. In addition if your alchemy has any combat potential you are required by law to enter the military as a State alchemist, the excessive research fund is no longer available for every State alchemist, instead everyone starts out with a small fund and as they prove themselves to be able to put the money to good use the fund is increased appropriately. These rules have been in place for 5 years.

Despite their intentions the drafting has only slightly improved the condition as more people begin to protest the procedures of the military.

This entire situation has been going on for 8 years.

Note on ranks:
Every alchemist begins as a major and you can create a non-alchemist at that ranks or below with no restrictions, however there can only be one character with the above ranks for the sake of variety.

Although all the higher ranks have been taken you can still enter, however your starting rank can only be as high as Major, if you're making a military officer.

Before making a character please make a claim as to what type of alchemy you're going to give your character and what rank he has unless you have a good reason for him not to be in the military. Oh, and by the way everyone will be stationed in Central for the sake of making it easier to rp.
