One Piece Character CreationCreate your own character. Pirate, Pirate Hunter, Marine, whatever you want. Or you can be a character from the series, as long as the character isn't already taken.
Tis exactly what it says. This is a thread for a string of characters I am making for an Empire of my own making, the Aian Empire. It is situated in Grand Line, and is an Autumn Island, with the usual verdant grasslands, cherry blossom trees, and Oriental style towns and villages. The island itself is known as Aiaya, pronounced Eya.
Trivia - Aiaya, if read as Aya, means "Ouch!", in Korean, what could this mean about this fearsome empire? You will have to wait to find out :3
Note - My characters shall go in order of Rank, highest being Supreme Commander goes first, unless I say otherwise.
Arkaalis Decimus Nazarae - The King's Champion

Name Arkaalis Decimus Nazarae Nickname The Lion of the East Age 26 Gender Male Date of Birth August 7th Home Town Capitol City Occupation The King's Champion. Being the King's Champion, he is obliged to take any and all challenges involving the honor of the king. His position gives him authority over everyone except the King himself. Eyes A deep fiery red. Hair Equally Red, See Picture. Body He is quite muscular, but not to the point where he is bulging, but is definitely not to be mistaken with Athletic Musculature. Height 6'3'' Weight 156 Pounds Description Very fast, strong, and smart. His brother sometimes calls him "All Brawn, and All Brain". Being the King's Champion, he has faced many fearsome opponents over the years, and defeated them all, which speaks wonders of his fighting skill. He is also known to be talented at magic, a rare skill in the lands of Aiayanos. Clothes Usually wears the ragged blue coat seen in the picture, the back bears his Coat of Arms. Which is a Red Griffon, symbolizing that he has the heart, and strength of a lion, and the wit, and speed of an eagle. The Griffon is in a circle of gold, and a purple crown lies above it, signifying he is The King's Champion. He is always wearing his sword arm pauldron, which is lined in gold, and navy blue in the rest, it is too emblazoned with his Coat of Arms. The Pauldron is held on by two leather straps, and he has a larger strap going from his opposite shoulder to his hip, used to hold weapons. On his right arm is a steel forearm bracer, and his left arm is tightly wrapped in a bandage for some strange unknown reason. On both arms he is usually seen wearing gloves. He of course, wears a sword belt, complete with sword at his hip, and wears slim white cloth pants, neatly tucked into brown travel boots reinforced with thin metal. Underneath his coat he wears first, a small red scarf wound around his neck, the tails of which lay under the coat, and a dark blue shirt, and a thin chainmail shirt.
When going into war, he puts on a thicker chainmail shirt, and puts on the usual petticoat, but his is a dark blue color, he then dons his Gold and Black breastplate, puts his pauldron over said plate, and then puts his coat back on. A forearm protector goes on his other arm, and gauntlets are placed over his usual gloves, the usual hip plates are put on, and greaves go over his boots. His helmet looks like a roaring lion, his lower jaw goes into the lion's open mouth, and his eyes look through slits placed where the lion's eyes would be. Weapons Caelumus Tutul, Heaven's Guardian. A two handed broadsword, similar in design to the sword in the picture, only much longer. Arkaalis will usually wear it either at his hip or on his back. Nothing is known of its powers, besides the fact he was able to use it to seal the force of Vane's sword, hinting at enormous power. Although the exact ability of the sword is unknown to everyone but the king, as all who have seen its power in action were cut down mercilessly. Arkaalis is also known to be proficient with a spear and a shield, although he rarely uses them except in war. Special Techniques/Attacks He is known to be good at magic, but such spells will not be revealed yet. Specialties One on One Combat, Tactics, Strategies, Speechcraft. Pirate Crew None Bounty None Devil Fruit None Devil Fruit Ability None Personality Arkaalis is like the embodiment of good, he is wise, strong, and kind, usually seen walking the streets of Capitol City, helping a soldier with his swing, carrying bags for women, or helping children find their mothers. His rage is legendary, but he has only snapped 3 times in his lifetime, in all cases, nearby men were terrified, and all the enemies lay dead. History Arkaalis was born to a courtswomen and a high ranking kingdom official, both died in a recent war, and he was raised as a ward of the castle. The king was like a father to him, and took good care of him, seeing as how neither of his parents had been soldiers, he did not think Arkaalis would be adept with a sword, but he proved him wrong, as Arkaalis was a natural at combat, spear, shield, sword, he learned it all at a very fast rate.
Arkaalis soon became the Supreme Commander after years of training, he led the army to great victories, and was especially known for driving out the Vampires out of Aiayanos, and for stopping a raging fire that would have consumed the entire island. He has a friendly rivalry with his younger foster brother Vane, they constantly spar, and Arkaalis admits with a smile that Vane is coming closer and closer to succeeding him every time. Besides being the King's Champion, the King also frequently sends him on vacations and Ambassadorial Journeys.
Vane Nazarae - Supreme Commander/Half Vampire With Long White Hair and Flaming Sword per request of Baron.

Name Vane Decimus Nazarae Nickname Supreme Vein Sucker, White Reaper Age 50 (Looks 20ish) Gender Male , Half Vampire Date of Birth January 14th Home Town Thorntree Tops Occupation Supreme Commander of the Aiayan Forces Eyes Ice Blue, he has slitted eyes like a snake, and the slits are dark blue in color. Hair Long and white, goes down to about slightly below his shoulders. He sometimes wraps it in a ponytail if working or fighting. The way his hair waves around him and catches the light has earned him the name of the White Reaper, by his fellow commanders and officers. A branch of Special Ops has even been named after his nickname. Body He is quite slim, but holds a surprising amount of strength in his lean wiry frame, like Nnoirtoria of Bleach. As such his armor is also slim, and does not help in making him look bigger. Instead, the armor only seeks to make him taller and leaner to his dismay, and his ally's humor. Height 6'1'' Weight 132 pounds Description He is very fast, and excels in accurate fast strikes that often leave an opponent dead or crippled beyond repair. He has a high endurance, and his blade work and speed are nearly unmatched, as is expected from the Supreme Commander of the King's Forces. Clothes When not in war, he wears a leather coat, white shirt, black clothe pants, and gloves. Said coat is not very big, and only seeks to make him look even cooler. When in war, he wears the standard sword arm pauldron of the Aiayan forces. His pauldron is red on the edges, and black in the rest. His coat of arms is a cross between a lion and a bat. He wears a standard padded petticoat white in color, it is quickly covered by his white and black breastplate. Followed by his gauntlets and forearm plates. His greaves and hip plates follow closely. Leaving his entire form shielded from most blows, leaving only slight openings. He also wears a thin chain mail shirt over his petticoat. Over all of this he wears his dark blue cloak, emblazoned with his coat of arms, with a golden crown, signifying his rank. It hangs from his shoulder plates and resembles a cape. His helmet is draconian in appearance and is made from plain unpainted metal, it covers the entire top portion of his head, and comes down in plates covering his nose and leaving only the bottom of his jaw open. There are two slits for his eyes. He also had two extending plates of metal from the back, extending over his jawbones and neck. WeaponsIgnisa Sanctimonica, The Flame of the Pure. It is a mystic blade, heavily bejeweled, much to Vane's chagrin and shame. It however remains somewhat light in weight. It is able to produce flame at Vane's will from the blade. Upon uttering the the word "Sperku", the entire blade goes into its Second Stage, where the blade is permanently wreathed in hungry flames, and gains the ability to create "Lingering Flames", which do exactly as they sound. It's final stage is brought forth upon uttering "Defacoas Ignisa", Purging Flames. The blade becomes a blade of compressed pure flame. Giving it unimpeded piercing capabilities as well leaving behind a short lived trail of flame behind it. Special Techniques/Attacks Soon to Come.... Pirate Crew None Bounty None Devil Fruit None Devil Fruit Ability None Personality Very good natured, a person like him should not have been cursed as a vampire. He takes good natured joke at his Vampire Nature in a playful way, but will not tolerate racial jokes or insults, at him or his men. Hobbies Chess, Sleep, Swim. Likes Chess, Water, Sleeping, White. Dislikes Ball Games, Fire. Family He is the foster brother of Arkaalis, The King's Champion. Nakama The King's Army Rivals Arkaalis Heroes Arkaalis Dreams To lead Aiayanos to victory in all of its conflicts, and spread its name. History Vane was born in a rural village near the cliffs of the ocean. Meaning the far outskirts of Aiayanos. His parents abandoned him at birth in the Thorntree Tops, the high cliffs and peaks skirting their village. He somehow survived this and grew up, learning the dangers of the Thorn Trees, getting a first hand lesson on herbology, and zoology.
Fate would have it that a child already so poor, would be forced into a Dark Fate. The vampires of Aiayanos were moved to the now abandoned village, they prospered there, and a kindly vampire woman found the child living wild in the Tops. She took him in, and as was usual in the culture of the vampires, they made him a half vampire.
The entire time during the ceremony he thrashed about resisting the ceremony masters, but eventually the deed was done. He lay asleep for 2 days as his body changed and the vampire blood took over. On the first day of his sleep, the King's Army swept into the village killing or driving out all the vampire to sea. Apparently, the vampires had committed a great crime against Arkaalis, the current Supreme Commander, killing his younger brother. Arkaalis found the now rapidly aging and changing Vane in an infirmary and took him back to the capitol.
After hearing his story, they accepted him into the human society of Aiayanos, Arkaalis took him in as a foster brother, and the King treated him as a son. He learned the way of the blade from his older brother, and he was horrible at it. He was determined not to lose to his brother and strived to work harder. Eventually he drew upon the strength of his vampire blood and he soon became a master swordsman.
One day as he practiced on his own, a group of large black ravens came bearing a rusted and torn sword (Excalibur Legend anyone?). After dropping the sword at his feet, the birds disappeared in the sunlight. Puzzled, Vane picked up the sword, upon touching his hands it floated into the air, and came down again, brand new. Vane unsheathed it, and it was probably the worst mistake of his life.
The blade erupted into flames once the sheath was gone, it burned him and burned the forest he had been training in. A dispatchment of the King's Army came to evacuate, and Arkaalis sensed his brother near death in the raging inferno. Arkaalis charged in, and found his brother, seemingly dead, and with his hand on a hilt that was pouring flame. Using his own sword, Arkaalis sealed the blade back into the hilt, and casted a protective ward on it.
Vane woke up days later, his burns healing quickly due to the nature of his vampire blood, from that day since, he greatly feared fire. His brother gave him back the sword, and explained he sealed its fearsome power in stages. But Vane never wanted to unleash even a bit of its power at all. He tried to give it away, but the sword always found its way back to him, reluctantly he took it as his own and trained with it.
He eventually overcame his intense fear of fire, and using his new sword, he quickly rose in the ranks of the army. His brother, was now the King's Champion, and he appointed his young brother, currently a captain, to be the new Supreme Commander. A year or so later, the King's Naval Command, brought in a ragged one person Vampire Boat. The person aboard had been captured, and interrogated, it had been found out that the sword was sent by the council of vampire elders, planning to both get rid of an unstable relic, and to kill and ruin. Vane had turned the curse into a weapon.
River - First Commander / Vice Commander

Name River Nickname Rivers Age 22 Gender Male Date of Birth January 9th Home Town Capitol City, Aiayanos Occupation First Commander, being the First Commander, he only takes orders from The King, The King's Champion, and the Supreme Commander, he is also to take over Supreme Commander, if said Supreme Commander is killed, or retired. Eyes Very dark brown, almost black. He has a mischievous glint in his eye at all times. Hair See Picture Body Athletic Musculature Height 6'1/2'' Weight 156 Pounds Description Very quick and nimble, very good with his evasive maneuvers and crowd control skills. Pretty average in strength, but has been known to knock out most enemy foot soldiers with a good strike from the butt of his firearm. Clothes See Picture, his footwear however, is replaced with well worn leather boots going slightly below his knee. When going into war, he has two pauldrons, that extend slightly to protect his upper arm from sword strikes. Like all other Commanders, they are emblazoned with his Coat of Arms. He wears a slim, multi plate suit of armor, protecting him adequately, as well as keeping his range of motion uninhibited. The breastplate is a series of curved metal plates that go in a vertical pattern down, allowing him to bend back, forward, to the sides, and every other direction with very little limit to his movement. The rest of his armor is very similar, it is much slimmer than even Vane's armor, as his value on the battlefield relies not on the front lines, but at a distance. His helmet is very simple, and looks like that of a hawk's head. The beak over his forehead, and leaving a large area for his eyes. Weapons His most common weapons are his twin Velvet Nightmares, which as seen in the picture, are long barrel handguns, with heavy one edge blades on the bottom barrel, perfect for stabbing, and slashing. He is quite talented in the melee usage of these, and even better at shooting with them. He also uses the rifle seen in the picture. Special Techniques/Attacks River is very talented in the usage of magic, but is a specialized mage, whereas Arkaalis maybe be talented in all areas, River is talented only in Gun Magic. Gun Magic utilizes the compression of magical energies into projectiles, or imbuing plain ammunition with special properties through the usage of Magic Circles which are created in the air.
River has created a combat style he has christened, Cast Draw, which he uses most of the time when fighting small groups of enemies, to singular enemies. Utilizing his uncanny ability to aim, load, and fire in one swift motion, as well his Gun Magic, he can fire off very fast, and very lethal bullets with deadly accuracy. Most of the attacks associated with this combat style however, are useful only in taking on single opponents, and are virtually useless in fighting armies, although River has made a few attacks that are capable of large scale destruction. Specialties Gunwork, Thievery, Crowd Control, Morale Control Pirate Crew None Bounty None Devil Fruit None Devil Fruit Ability None Personality Very witty and cheerful, one that is quick to help. Hobbies Polishing his guns, napping, taking long walks. Likes Guns, naps, war. Dislikes Bows, lack of sleep, inactivity. Family A very distant mother and father which he rarely speaks to, both are very poor peddlers on the streets of Capitol City. Nakama Aiayanos Army. Rivals None Heroes None Dreams To achieve the title of, "Best Sniper". History River grew up in a very poor and distant family. His parents thought their parental duties extended only to making sure he was fed occasionally, and clothed. He usually wandered around Capitol City, and developed a talent for stealing things.
He eventually stole a gun from a rather confused Marine, who had wandered into this part of East Blue and was now looking for directions. River was found to be very talented with guns, and to some extent magic. He was quickly scouted out by the Aiayanos Army, as magic users were rare and very much needed in war. He was drafted, but he found he liked being in the army, and liked war.
Well, Sprite, you didn't lie. These guys are pretty awesome. I was actually just talking about a vampire with long, white hair and a flaming sword as a reference to Castlevania, (Arikado = Alucard) but I'll be damned if you didn't run with it and end up writing an undeniably good character. And the king's champion guy seems cool, too. I see a possible rendez-vous with Hanser in the future.
I'll just pick a single nit, though, as I am wont to do. You say that Arkaalis is good at magic, and while I appreciate that it's a reasonable alternative to a DF, no such force has ever turned up in One Piece. The way I see it anyway, it doesn't fit with the world's mythos.
Good apart from that, though. Brilliant, even.

Hmm yes, I know the magic thing is a bit off, but magic has to exist somewhere in the One Piece world....right? I'll probably write something about how they get their magic in the country history if i ever get around to writing it.
I thought Miss Golden Week was kinda using magic. No other way to describe that, rite?
Despite there being no reference to anything being "magical" by nature, I find no better excuse for hair-tentacles and clouds made of iron. :X

Oh yeah, everything's magical. And things like colour psychology and chi harnessing might be exaggerated beyond what's even close to realistic, but if I recall correctly the only mention of the word "Magic" is when Nami makes those rainclouds on Thriller Bark. And that's with the Clima Tact, and so doesn't count.
