Maybe we should have a roleplaying thread devoted solely to combat? Like gladiator fights, two characters fighting each other to the DEATH, except, they wouldn't really be dead.......you could still use them outside of the Arena.

Perhaps there could be more than just 1-on-1 face offs as well? Like 2-on-2 battles, or like 4 or more fighter free for all, like basically the last man standing.

Yeah, but the other character would have to agree to this type of match, AND they would have to agree to be a partner to another character.

Orr, we could set each battle at a certain number of turns, and whoever has the upperhand by the time the number of turns is up is the winner, so you would have to get your opponent into a checkmate position with a number of turns, or at least make sure they are faring worse then you are by the time the battle is over.

WE WILL NEED SOME GOOD UNBIASED JUDGES.

I like the setting of turns idea more than predetermining the victor before the battle. It'd be more fun to do the former than the latter, knowing that you're either just gonna win or lose in the end, with no surprises, you know.

Checkmate position isn't really that convincing imo. I mean, anyone can just type a sudden "grabs him from behind and puts a knife under his throat ready to slash it if the other one moves at all". I'd say it works better with a number of turns, whereas they're forced to end it in a stalemate, and after that the said judges say who wins (depending on each one's performance), then the other one can finish it (perhaps in a few more turns by that rate, so it won't be too sudden).

RP mods be judges. Good idea. That'd be me and Hatori. So in battles I participate in, only Hatori can be the judge, and vice versa. Cause I don't wanna be judging my own fights, that'd be unfair. If there's a fight that neither of us are in though, we can both be present as judges.
